There are various points I can make after listening to Heart FM.
When I first turned the radio on it played music such as 'Outkast' and 'Justin Timberlake'. Even though they were songs that were a few years old the songs are aimed at a younger audience. After that, 'Norah Jones' 'Will Young' and 'Room 5' were played, and those songs are aimed at a slightly older audience, maybe people in their thirties and fourties.
A number of adds were then played, vodafone and Maroon 5 album were advertised, this is aimed at people of many ages. It then advertises domestic appliances, AFG kitchens, wedding showcase, contractors and Saab (cars). This is aimed at an older audience for people that have quite a lot of money.
The radio then plays more music aimed at a younger audience such as Beyonce and Christina Aguilera.
The show then changes and plays music and advertisements all aimed at older people. The adds that were played are Oxford nursery, computing, and Whitney shopping. This is predominantly aimed at women. Music was then played by Phil Collins, All 4 One and Abba.
To conclude, I would say Heart radio is aimed at the twenties/fourties age bracket, mostly female, middle income households.
News broadcast Heart FM 3pm.
The news cast lasted approximately 3 minutes. The first headline was 'a man stabbed in Oxford last Thursday, 27 year old charged.' This will catch the audience's attention and get them interested in listening to the news. It also informs the audience what has been happening in their area. This headline will be more aimed at an older audience.
The second headline was 'Region's water supplier Thames Water to raise rates'. This will also be aimed at the older audience as it will most likely them that will be affected by this, not younger people.
'Kate Moss attends St Paul's tribute to Alexander Mc Queen' and 'Myleen Klass announces on Twitter she is expected her second child'. These headlines aren't as important as the other ones, but it is celebrity gossip to get the younger audience interested too.
To end the news headlines it tells you the weather.
